How to listen to a meeting audio recording...
- >> Meeting Scheduler must have made decision to record
- >> If a Telenet meeting was set to record when scheduled, and record was activated during meeting, playback is available about 10 minutes after the meeting concludes.
- >> For security, the original meeting ID and password are needed to access the recording.
- >> Recordings are retained on the system for 30 days.
Option 1. On your computer... (preferred method)
This method gives complete control of the recording... skip around, repeat, and download to save for archival purposes.
- Step 1: With your favorite Internet Browser, go to this URL: telenet.aces.illinois.edu.
- Step 2: Click on Go To MeetingPlace or MeetingPlace Web Interface. Both hotlinks go to the same place.
- Step 3: Click on Find Meeting.
- Step 4: Log-in as guest on left side OR as employee on right side
- Step 5: Click Find Meeting
- Step 6: Click on Past radio button
- Step 7: Enter Meeting ID in box and adjust dates if necessary to search for your meeting.
- Step 8: Click Search button
- Step 9: A page appears with possible meetings. Click on the Meeting ID of desired meeting.
- Step 10: Enter meeting password in the box.
- Step 11: A page of Meeting Information appears. Click Attachments/Recordings on right side of frame
- Step 12: A page appears with Meeting Recording at the top, with 3 Icons under the Play heading.
- First Icon is a WAV file... uncompressed and sounds great, but is very large.
- Second Icon is Windows Media/Real Player file... compressed but very portable.
- Third Icon is MP3 audio file.
- >> Right-mouse-click on any file gives the option to save and download to your computer.
- >> Left-mouse-click on any file gives the option to start playing the file off the server.
- >> Clicking the file will usually start playback. There is a pull-bar to skip around the recording.
- >> When finished, close Telenet meeting file by closing browser connection.
TIP: If you download and save the WAV or MP3 files, you may place it on your desktop, shared-server files, or other portable media.
Option 2: By telephone...
The recording may also be accessed by any touch-tone telephone anywhere in the world
- Step 1: Dial 217-239-1048.
- Step 2: After computer voice answers, Press 3
- Step 3: Enter month on phone keypad, followed by "#"
- Step 4: Enter day of month on phone keypad, followed by "#"
- Step 5: Enter meeting ID on phone keypad, followed by "#"
- Step 6: Enter meeting password on keypad, followed by "#"
- Step 7: Press 1 to start playback of the meeting recording.
- The telephone method offers only a very-limited ability to move around within the recording:
- >> Press 1 to rewind several seconds
- >> Press 2 to pause playback
- >> Press 3 to fast forward several seconds
- Step 8: Hangup phone when finished to terminate the call.
